CHERRY BOMB
An introduction to Joan Jett
Joan Jett's musical journey began with the pioneering all-girl rock band, The Runaways. Her diverse musical influences range from the hard rock of Black Sabbath and the glam rock of Sweet, David Bowie, and T. Rex to the raw energy of punk bands like the Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and X. This punk influence continued to shape her taste through the 90s with bands like Fugazi and L7, showcasing her enduring appreciation for rebellious and powerful music.
Beyond her passion for music, Joan enjoys a variety of interests. She's an avid sports fan, favoring baseball and basketball, and finds joy in the warm days of summer. She appreciates classic films like "Cabaret" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and finds humor in comedy shows. Her personal life includes her beloved dog, Suzy, and a love for well-prepared fish. She drives a custom Jaguar and cherishes her guitars, particularly her 1968 Gibson Melody Maker and Les Paul Deluxe, which likely hold sentimental value from her early days as a musician.
Overall, Joan Jett is a multi-faceted individual with a strong sense of self. She's a rock icon who remains grounded in her personal life and values. Her love for music, her diverse interests, and her desire to make a difference all contribute to a portrait of a woman who is both fierce and compassionate. We are honored to pay Tribute to the Queen of Rock & Roll.
